Second Cohort Registration Now Open
Transforming Early Child Care in Your Community Boot Camp is now accepting registrations for its 2nd Cohort in the Fall of 2026. This virtual course takes early child care stakeholders through the Community Change process with the goal of improving the child care system in their communities. The Community Change process involves 5 phases: Assessment, Planning, Acting, Evaluating and Sustaining. The boot camp will explore each of these phases in terms of early child care. This highly interactive series consists of 8 virtual sessions, peer to peer learning and a final project.
This training will be the final FREE cohort until new grant funding is obtained. 35 spots are available.
Audience
This class is open to anyone in the North Central Region (IA, IL, IN, KS, MN, MI, MO, OH, ND, NE, SD, WI), but is highly recommended for Business Leaders, Economic Developers, Extension Professionals, Child Care Directors, Child Care Educators, Child Care Community Advocates, Civic Leaders and Employers. Multi-stakeholder classes create richer conversations. Multi-sector conversations are where the magic happens.

Background
NCRCRD Fellow, Sarah Kennedy, an Extension Field Specialist at University of Missouri specializing in Early Childhood Impact, developed this highly interactive, early child care boot camp for stakeholders who want to improve the child care system in their communities for her Fellow Project. First presented in Spring 2026, this second cohort will again be free to anyone in the North Central Region through the NCRCRD fellowship grant funding she received.
